Okuma Helios SX Spinning Reels HSX-40, The body, side plate and rotor of the Helios SX are constructed of Okuma C-40X long-strand carbon fiber. Parts constructed from C-40X carbon fiber are 25% lighter and 50% stronger than their graphite counterparts. C-40X construction is also completely corrosion-free. At the back end of the reel and including the reel stem and foot is Okuma Torsion Control Armor. This unique design anchors the reel body within a wide yoke.

Helios SX Spinning Reel has 8 high performance bearings and 1 rolling bearing with a Cyclonic Flow Rotor. The Cyclonic Flow Rotor was designed to create a cyclonic airflow, which significantly increases air flow through the ported rotor. Allows for a much faster drying time if the reel becomes wet, minimizing corrosion possibilities throughout the reel. The Torsion Control Armor design is made with Okuma's C-40X long-strand carbon fiber technology.
